MISSION
To identify points of intersection and use creativity to positively affect change.
MOTTO
Live with passion, be engaged, and seek to do what fascinates, scares and intimidates you because life is both rich and short.
MINDSET
A holistic approach to organizational development is crucial for effective collaboration, growth and sustainability.
.Making a difference in the world and working in an environment where I can continuously grow and learn is important to me.
As a creative and analytical thinker, I have held many multi-dimensional roles. As a result, I often work across multiple departments. This has enabled me to gain a comprehensive and holistic perspective of systems and operations in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. I commonly work with organizations who are going through a period of transition and need help streamlining workflows and strategically moving through change to focus on capacity building.
I have worked in leadership roles in global companies like Carlson Hotels World Wide. I’ve served as a nonprofit Executive Director at the Corrales Arts Center. I’ve also served as a program proposal committee member at the University of New Mexico, which led to the new Arts Leadership + Business minor. I’ve been a part of leading grassroots organizations like the Friends of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge as a board member during the time period when the last land acquisition was being solidified. I’ve also been a part of local village staples like the Corrales Comment newspaper. There, I worked as a journalist covering local and national assignments, as well as a layout specialist executing print and web publications, and as a graphic designer for clients placing advertisements. I also worked alongside the Editor in Chief, Jeff Radford, in strategic planning, while managing the office and payroll.
Most recently, I served as the Director of Grants and Communications Officer at the New Mexico Humanities Council (NMHC). In this role as a grantmaker, I implemented strategies which reduced barriers to help organizations throughout New Mexico successfully acquire federal funds through our regrant program. I advocated for grant recipients by seeking out ways to reduce administrative burden, created a means to increase funding categories and provided guidance on documentation linked to the Office of Management and Budget’s Uniform Guidance also known as the Code of Federal Regulations. I also led my team through the process of refreshing our brand image, utilizing my skills in website construction, graphic design, photography and style guide development. Alongside this effort, my counterpart and I helped improve NMHC’s outreach efforts and presented a more polished image on Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
I have also developed special projects and/or served as a team lead in pilot programs. I’ve collaborated with leading change makers like Comienzos as a reentry workshop teacher, Heading Home as an intern, and the Healthy Food Center (HFC) run by Road Runner Food Bank. As a clinic based pilot program team lead, representing Journey Pediactrics, I joined strategy meetings with Case Managers from Presbyterian Hospital and the University of NM Hospitals. I developed the My Goals prescription pad and online resource library to further my clinics efforts with the HFC.
While I promote establishing standard operating procedures to keep projects on track, I find my creativity is one of my best tools to work with teams to overcome obstacles. However, having the ability to look at issues from multiple perspectives has enabled me to facilitate collaboration between departments to successfully meet end goals.
It is my goal to utilize innovation, creativity and critical thinking to be a part of making sustainable positive social change in our world. Contact me, to join your team.
